After uploading your design file, RapidUI re-organizes your design’s layer order in order to create the perfect HTML hierarchy.
Using the ‘Layers’ panel can speed up your workflow, helps you locate elements easily and check out your site’s HTML hierarchy. Feel free to check out our layers hierarchy guide to brush up on your HTML knowledge!
When you upload your design, RapidUI splits all of your elements into sections. Every element of your design file is located here and split up into different sections, depending on where they are located on the page. Each section contains layers, simply click on a section in the panel to reveal its layers.
Below is an example of a ‘Layers’ panel in RapidUI, and its hierarchy:
You can select any element in your site through the ‘Layers’ panel and vice versa! Select an element on the page to highlight its name in the ‘Layers’ panel.
If you would like to select more than one element at a time you can multi-select elements by holding CTRL/Command while clicking on the desired layer. If you wish to change your layer’s name, simply double-click on it.
Most importantly, the ‘Layers’ panel is the place where you can CREATE NEW ELEMENTS - because an element, after all, is just another layer! Check out our guide on how to add new elements.
